We rebuild the Ram 1500 TIPM already in your truck, not a swap unit
You are buying work on the Ram 1500 TIPM bolted into your truck. The totally integrated power module you send us is the one that comes back, rebuilt and tested. A pre-paid shipping label reaches you once you order, so shipping the module in is arranged and paid on our end. All 14 options here are that one service, separated only by model year.
Your Ram 1500's model year is the only thing you have to match
Pick the year your Ram 1500 was built and you have matched this page. The picker holds 14 options, one per model year from 2007 through 2020, and none asks for a part number.
Reading a number off a TIPM means getting the fuse box out first, and the module is usually still in the truck when someone orders. The model year is on your registration and the door jamb sticker, so you can order before the unit comes out.
Treat the range as a hard edge. 2007 is the earliest year listed and 2020 the latest. A 2006 Ram 1500 and a 2021 or newer are outside this page, and picking the closest year gets you the wrong module.
What a Ram 1500 TIPM repair involves at board level
The board work comes first:
- Failed components are replaced and resoldered
- Known high-failure components go in the same session, so the next weak part is not left waiting
- Cold solder joints are found and reflowed
The testing that follows confirms four things:
- The module communicates
- It takes programming
- Programming and parameters store and hold, rather than only loading
- Voltage is where it should be
A TIPM only leaves the bench once it is fully rebuilt and tested for quality. Diesel ECM Exchange has been family-run since 2019, and diesel control modules are the entire catalog.
Ram 1500 and Ram 2500 TIPM pages split at two model years
Two pages here repair a Ram TIPM by year, and their year lists differ. This page runs 2007 through 2020 for the Ram 1500. The Ram 2500 TIPM page runs 2007 through 2021.
Two years separate them. 2010 appears here and not on the 2500 page. 2021 appears on the 2500 page and not here. Every other year from 2007 through 2020 is on both, so the badge on the truck decides which page you want, not the year.
Trucks from 2007 and 2008 are badged Dodge Ram rather than Ram, and both mean the same truck. The 3500, 4500, 5500, C/V and ProMaster each have their own page under Ram TIPM repair services.
Repair, dealer or salvage on a failed Ram 1500 TIPM
- A dealer sells you a new module and bills you for fitting it on top
- A salvage yard sells you one in whatever state it left the last truck in, with no components replaced, no bench work, and only the seller's terms behind it
- This page, the repair. It costs time rather than money. Your truck sits idle for the journey out and back, not just the days the TIPM is on the bench, and you pull the unit before you order
A free lifetime warranty sits behind the work that comes back.
How long will my Ram 1500 be off the road?
The bench work takes 3 to 5 business days from the day your TIPM lands at our facility, and the return trip adds another 1 to 3. Neither covers shipping time on the way in, which nobody can quote in advance. That leg is the one you control.
What happens if my Ram 1500 TIPM cannot be repaired?
When a module cannot be saved, what you paid is applied toward a rebuilt replacement, so the worst outcome is a working TIPM reached by a different route.
My Ram 1500 cranks but will not start and the fuel pump is not running. Is that the TIPM or the pump?
Owner forums carry both answers, and the symptom alone does not separate them. The work here is done to the module itself, so a failed pump or a wiring fault is still there when the TIPM comes back. Talk to us first if the diagnosis is not settled.
What does the TIPM actually control on a Ram 1500?
The totally integrated power module handles body electrical work. Manufacturer bulletins filed with NHTSA record TIPM faults affecting front exterior lighting, trailer tow lamp circuits, starter solenoid current and transmission shift behavior. Those bulletins name other vehicles built on the same module rather than the Ram 1500, so read them as the failure pattern for this part, not a record of your truck.
Is there a recall on my Ram 1500's TIPM?
The TIPM recalls people search for are not Ram 1500 recalls. Three NHTSA campaigns cover a fuel pump relay failing inside the TIPM-7, and every one names the Dodge Durango and the Jeep Grand Cherokee instead: 14V-530 for 2011, 15V-115 for 2012 and 2013, and 19V-813, which supersedes both and spans 2011 to 2013. A recall attaches to an individual vehicle, so check your own truck against NHTSA's recall lookup.
Is the lifetime warranty on a Ram 1500 TIPM repair conditional on a core return?
There is no core to return on a repair, because the module that goes back to you is the one you sent in. That is the difference between a repair and an exchange, where an old unit travels back before cover starts. Read the warranty terms for the cover and the conditions attached to it.
HOW DOES IT WORK?

Frequently asked questions
How does the free warranty work?
We are confident in the quality of our repairs, so we back every repair with a free lifetime warranty.
Will I be able to return my computer in the event it doesn't work?
Yes. If you are not satisfied with the repair within the 60 day period, you will be able to get a refund.
How quickly will you ship my computer?
Please allow 3-5 business days for us to repair your core once it has been received at our facility. Please allow 1-3 additional business days for delivery.
What if it can't be repaired?
It's rare, but it happens. If we can't save your unit, every dollar you paid is applied to a rebuilt replacement — you'd pay for that replacement either way, so there's no downside to trying the repair first. Worst case, you end up exactly where you started.
How can I pay?
We have a variety of ways you can pay. You can pay With Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover, plus Google Pay and Apple Pay. We also accept Western Union, or you can send us a check or money order to the address below:
